Daria Daulat Bagh Located in Srirangapatnam Tombs of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan is a site worth visiting, Built in Persian style of architecture, Gumbaz captivates everyone. Surrounded by beautiful garden named as Lalbagh Garden, the imposing structure of Gumbaz is seen in the middle on an elevated platform. The platform has an open veranda which is dotted with pillars made up of black granite. These majestic pillars provide support to the structure. It is situated at a distance of 15 km from Mysore. Built in 1784 AD by Tipu Sultan for his parents, he was also buried here in 1799 AD. With a height of about 20 meters, this structure stands majestically, polished pillars add on to the overall beauty of these vast domes. The ivory decorated doors of the domes and the intricately carved stone windows showcase the hard-work and brilliant craftsmanship which has gone into creating this masterpiece. The walls have been painted in tiger stripes, which is popularly associated with Tipu Sultan.
Mysore Palace is a gem of regal heritage, enchanting visitors with architecture, dating back to late nineteenth and early twentieth century of Indo-Saracenic designs. A spectacular light show illuminates Mysore palace on Sundays, public holidays and during the Dasara celebrations when 97,000 electric light bulbs are switched on. Mysore Zoo is dependent on entry fees to finance the running of the centre, however an improved adoption scheme introduced in the early year of 2000 has been a success, welcoming celebrities, institutions, and animal lovers to contribute directly to the welfare of the zoo inmates.
